Cropmarks of probable saltmounds of medieval or post-medieval date are visible on 1960s Ordnance Survey vertical aerial photography [1]. Three areas of cropmarking are visible, all are irregular in plan; the largest measures 88m (WSW-ENE) x 39m (NNW-SSE), then 51m (NW-SE) x 35m (NE-SW) with the smallest 38m (NW-SE) x 21m (NE-SW). It is unclear if the cropmarks represent one or three saltmounds. The precise date of the features is unclear but they are likely to be medieval in date. The features were not recorded on the Ordnance Survey 1877 edition [2].

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [3].

This is likely to be one of the 16 saltmounds referred to in TR 26 SW 5.
