A saltmound of medieval or post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork on 1940s RAF vertical aerial photography [1]. The mound is ovoid in plan and measures 85m (NW-SE) x 75m (NE-SW). Examination of modern aerial photographs indicates that this feature has since been levelled [2]. The precise date of the features is unclear but they are likely to be medieval in date. The site was partially visible on the Ordnance Survey 1877 edition [3].

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [4].

This is likely to be one of the 16 saltmounds referred to in TR 26 SW 5.
