A saltmound and associated ditch, both of probable medieval or post-medieval date, are visible as an earthwork on 1940s RAF aerial photography [1]. The mound is ovoid in plan and measures 65m (NW-SE) x 53m (NE-SW). The ditch is 62m long and flanks the western side of the saltmound, it is 11m wide. Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from the 1960s show that these features have been plough-levelled [2]. The precise date of the features is unclear but they are likely to be medieval in date. This site was not visible on the Ordnance Survey 1877 edition [3].

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [4].

This is likely to be one of the 16 saltmounds referred to in TR 26 SW 5.
