The anti-aircraft landing obstruction poles are centred at TR 0871 2822, to the west of St Marys Bay and the Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway (Monument Number 1357333). They form an interconnecting grid pattern in plan view, and extend across an area measuring approximately 560m north to south and 580m east to west. This includes the area of the pre-war Littlestone Airfield, which is identifiable through landing circles and airfield code letters (Monument Numbers 1535604, 1535610) also visible on aerial photographs. The landing obstruction poles are also contemporary with two anti-aircraft ditches (Monument Numbers 1535108, 1535109).

By the time of the vertical aerial photograph of 1946; the anti-aircraft poles had been removed (1-2).
