Full description

If you do not understand anything on this page please contact us.

The pillbox is centred at TR 0851 2798, and measures approximately six metres across. It appears to be six-sided, with an unroofed section in the centre where an anti-aircraft gun could be mounted. As such, it may be a Type 27 pillbox.

The pillbox is in close proximity to other Second World War defensive features, such as a grid of anti-aircraft poles to the north (Monument Number 1535077), and an anti-aircraft ditch (Monument Number 1535108).

On vertical aerial photographs of 2007, the pillbox is no longer visible (1-2).
