Amended description following Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey:
A storage facility constructed during WWI, it was part of Richborough Port (MWX43487), a major WWI port built to service allied troops on the Western Front.
The facility appears to have been dismantled by WWII as there are no structural remains of it visible on RAF vertical aerial photographs of this date [e.g. 2]. Please see MWX43487 for details of the port as a whole.
