A quay is visible in this location on the historic OS maps of the area. It is serving Rosherville Chalk Quarry and is the terminus of a tramway that connects a series of chalk pits located to the south. (1-2) the quay is still present at the time the 4th edition OS map was drawn but it is not connected to the tramway. (3) Site in use as an aggregate works, this area is in use as gravel storage, no visible remains of the quay but may just be built over (4)
