Tramways are visisble on historic OS maps of the area from the end of the 19th century onwards. These appear to connect to the chalk the quarrys at Rosherville and terminate at a quay on the southern banks of the River Thames. (1-2) The tramways appear to have been removed by the time the 3rd edition OS map had been produced. (3) it is not known if any remnants of this feature are still present.
