A building assessment was carried out in the warehouses on Cambridge Road in 1996 and again in 1997 ahead of proposals to convert them into retail outlets.

Taken from the source (1997): Building 11 abuts the south west side of building 10 as a subsequent addition. This small brick built (Flemish bond) two storey warehouse has a gabled roof of welsh slate with cast iron gutters and down pipes. Measuring internally 13m by 6.5m, the building does not extend as far as Cambridge Road, but gives onto a concrete yard at the rear. It is clearly shown on the 1861 OS map and appears to have undergone little alteration since its original construction. The south west wall of this building was originally an external one. Lying adjacent to an open boat slip way. The only access to into the building at ground level was originally through a door in the south east wall. Two cast iron round headed windows are located in the south east wall. There had originally been three but the third was removed when the new doorway into building 12 was created. The design of these is very similar to those used in the adjacent mansions of Waterloo Crescent built in 1834-38. The Goad insurance map for 1905 shows the structure as a paint store and chair store. The 1929 edition of Goad records a ground floor paint store with a sail makers above. (1)
