A building assessment was carried out in the warehouses on Cambridge Road in 1996 ahead of proposals to convert them into retail outlets.
Taken from the source (1996): Building two is situated immediately south-west of building one, this substantial warehouse has been linked to building one by a large doorway cut through the party wall. The building itself consists of mortared yellow stock brick (English bond) structure with a concrete floor and a pitched asbestos roof supported by steel girder framework. On the north-west side, the building projects forwards of building one and the north corner has been chamfered. This wall is pierced at ground level by two single doors and a wooden framed window (all painted dark blue). At first floor level there is a wooden louvre opening, also painted dark blue, with a cast iron down pipe on the south west side adjacent to building three, again painted in the same colour. The north east wall is pierced by a large doorway and a series of wooden framed windows opening into building one. There is also a single doorway, reached by a flight of stairs, at the south-east end of this wall giving access to the first floor rooms in building one. The south-eastern elevation of the building has a dark blue painted wooden louvre in the gable and a large blocked window at ground level. The south-west wall has been largely removed to allow access to building three. (1)
