Folkestone harbour station was opened in 1850 as the terminus of the South Eastern Railway's London - Fokestone line.
Folkestone Harbour played a nationally significant role during the First World War, as an embarkation point for troops going to fight and for those returning on leave. A café operated on the platform during this period. (1)
