Miles Mill, so named after the last miller and owner, was originally a smock mill. (See Illustration card) A bomb fell nearby during the last war which weakened the structure resulting in its being reduced to its base in 1942. Its remains are owned by Miss Miles, daughter of the late miller. The covered brick base has two floors the entire mill having had five . (Shown but not decribed on OS 1:2500, 1970 at TR 05735953) (1)

No mill is apparent on the OS drawing of 1797. The mill is shown on the Tithe Map of 1840. (2)
