Archaeological investigations carried out as part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link works in 2001 discovered a spread of late Neolithic worked flint. Much of this worked flint came from a shallow hollow and may represent debris from in situ knapping. It was located alongside a group of Late Neolithic features including pits and possible hearths, sand was found in association with sherds of late Neolithic pottery. (1)
