Excavation in 2000-2002 carried out as part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link found a gully located close to and likely associated with an Anglo-Saxon sunken feature building, to the south of the Springhead Excavations. The gully was located 5m to the east of the building. It was 0.3m wide by 0.1m deep and extended for at least 15 m, running approximately north–south. It may have been a drainage feature or perhaps held a fence, though no post- or stake-holes were identified in the base. (1)
