During trenching undertaken within the inner bailey of Dover Castle associated with the laying of utilities in 1967 - 1698 a small red brick oven was located within the angle created by the medieval dividing wall southern wall. It is of a possible C14/C15th date and clearly predates the redevelopment of the inner bailey in the 1740’s. (1)
