The Black Mill, Bethersden was a smock mill used mainly for timber sawing. It was moved to the site from Folkestone in 1886 and demolished c.1930 (1). It appears as a corn mill on the second edition OS Map (1897-1900), and is labelled as 'disused' on the third edition OS Map (1907-1923) (2).

The 2nd location of Bethersden Little Mill, a six-sailed saw mill originally located in the village, was also on this site. It was demolished in about 1896 (3).
