The possible slit trench is centred on the beach at TR 0829 2356 and extends across an area measuring approximately 50m south-west to north-east. It consists of a pair of parallel banks either side of a trench, and measures a maximum of seven metres wide to the outer edges of the banks.

It is visible as an earthwork on vertical aerial photographs of 1946. It occupies the site of a line of defensive barbed wire that was visible on vertical aerial photographs of 1942 but which had been removed prior to 1946 (Monument Number 1533960). By the time of the next available vertical aerial photograph of 1959; all traces of the trench had been removed (1-2).
