Summary:AL0935 Temple Manor, Strood An album of 63 pages containing 88 photographs and 1 plan. The photographs chart the history of the house: from 1934 when it was acquired by the local council; through a period of rapid decay until the Ministry of Works took over in 1950. The demolition of part of the derelict house and restoration of the remainder by the Ministry are shown. There are detailed views of the archaeological investigation outside and the revealed features in the house. The last 20 to 25 pictures are general interior and exterior views of the fully repaired house.There is also one interior view of the medieval barn that collapsed between 1934 and 1950The measured drawing is a floor plan of the house as it was in the early 20th century before it fell into decay. PF/TEM Temple Manor, Strood, Kent Seventy-one sheets, the earliest being photographic copies of prints from 1767 and an early twentieth century drawing by E Farley Cobb. There are survey plans from 1934, a copy of a 1949 deed plan, and a number of survey and stonework restoration drawings from the 1950s, along with proposals for a new staircase, and glazing and doorway details.There are a number of plans for guidebooks and other publications from the 1960s. Then coverage leaps to the 1980s with an electrical installation drawing from 1984, and concludes with a set of photogrammetric elevations from 1995.
