Two semi articulated animal burials were found in trenches 1 and 2 thought to relate to farm and butchery buildings just outside the western limit of the site. More deposits thought to be of further animal burials were left unexcavated. A hollow trackway and terracing were also found in these trenches which are of indeterminate age, but may relate to the gardens of the house built 1793-1801.
The remains of a 'sizeable agricultural structure' consisting of the brick floor of 5 separate rooms/compartments interpreted as a pig sty were found in trench 3. Adjoining the pig sty was a shallow pavement along the front and to the side thought to be for dispensing food and collecting manure. The structure was dated between 1800 and 1865.(1)
