A brick built structure encountered in an evaluation trench within Chatham Dockyard. It features on maps from 1821 onwards. It was in filled with a series of late 19th century industrial waste dumps, which contained a large number of 19th century furnace bricks and the broken remains of three sandstone grinding wheels. A layer of wood chips was found at the base of the structure, probably the product of sawing (1).
