Pillbox [Sector 4]. Cassini ref 589523. Hythe. (1)

The Second World War reinforced concrete pillbox referred to above (Source 1) was not visible at this location on the available historical aerial photographs viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The pillbox may be buried in the sand dunes or obscured by vegetation, or may have been given a inaccurate National Grid Reference due to its conversion from a Cassini Map Reference. (2)
