Pillbox [shown on German map of defences in East Kent]. Pillbox [Sector 4]. Cassini ref 621530. On Royal Military Canal between Hythe and Sandgate. (1)

The pillbox referred to above (Source 1) was not visible on aerial photographs viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The pillbox may have been given the wrong National Grid Reference, due to its conversion from its Cassini Map Reference, or misinterpreted by the Germans on their map.
