Pillbox [shown on German map of defences in East Kent]. On Royal Military Canal between Hythe and Sandgate. (1)

The pillbox referred to above (Source 1) is visible on aerial photographs and has been mapped part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The possibly Type 24 pillbox is located at TR 18328 34854, on the northern bank of the Royal military canal, at the crossing of Seaview footbridge. The pillbox appears to still be visible on recent aerial photographs taken in 2007. (2)
