Pillbox [Sector 4]. Cassini ref 597528. N of Royal Military Canal, Hythe. (1)

The pillbox referred to above (Source 1) was visible on aerial photographs and has been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP at the located given in Source 1. The type 22 pillbox is centred at TR 15853 3434, on the northern bank of the Royal Military Canal and faces south-westwards towards the canal. The entrance porch is located on the northeast side. The pillbox was still visible on aerial photographs taken in 1983. (2)
