Pillbox [shown on German map of defences in East Kent]. Pillbox [Sector 4]. Cassini ref 596521. On coast S of Hythe centre. (1)

The pillbox referred to above (Source 1) was not clearly visible on aerial photographs viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. There is perhaps a structure located at TR 1581 3394, which may be a pillbox but this was not clearly defined on the available aerial photographs taken in 1941 and 1944 and the structure was gone on aerial photographs taken in 1946.
