By the third edition, this had been removed. This signal station would have provided a means of conveying messages with passing and incoming ships with either flags during the day or lights at night. Signal house visible on the Ordnance Survey First and Second Editions at the north eastern end of the waterfront, near the north eastern end of Marine Parade, Dover.
