WWII earthworks and pathways visible on aerial photography taken in 1941, 1942 and 1946 [1, 2 and 3], located on the beach at Kingsdown. The features spanned an area along the beach 850m long, but were seen to be in two separate groups. Similar earthworks and pathways were clearly visible on 1938 OS historic mapping [4]. Features present on existing mapping were not re-mapped by the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. The features were still visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [4, 5 and 6], though the banks were eroded.

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
