Summary
A bank is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs. It follows a generally NW-SE aligned course for a total of 320m but is cut by a field drain close to its eastern end. It appears to have been plough-levelled by the 1960s as aerial photographs of this date show it as a cropmark. This feature represents a probable continuation of a feature recorded as part of MWX43225. A bank is shown on historic Ordnance Survey mapping that would link the two features. It is likely to be related to medieval or post-medieval date land reclamation in the Wantsum Channel.

A bank is visible as an earthwork on 1940s RAF vertical aerial photographs [1]. It follows a generally NW-SE aligned course for 240m until it is cut by a field drain, it resumes this course the other side of the ditch and runs for a further 50m, then turns and runs NNE-SSW for a further 35m until it is cut by a field drain, no further continuation is visible. The bank appears to have been plough-levelled by the 1960s as Ordnance Survey vertical aerial photographs of this date show it as a cropmark [2].
This feature represents a probable continuation of a feature recorded as part of MWX43225. A bank is shown on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map of the area that would link the two features [3]. It is likely to be related to medieval or post-medieval date land reclamation in the Wantsum Channel.
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [4].
