Section of a linear ditch visible as a faint cropmark on 1946 aerial photographs [1]. The ditch is aligned N-S and is visible for 112m. Whether there is any northward continuation of the ditch is unclear due to extensive geological marking in that part of the field.
The date and function of the ditch is unclear. It may represent a Later Prehistoric boundary ditch as a similar ditch was discovered and excavated in a nearby quarry (MKE4513), this was of late Iron Age date. Cropmarks of possible enclosures (MWX43058) lie 40m to the northwest of the northern end of this feature and may be related.
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [2].
