If you do not understand anything on this page please contact us.
A series of lengths of barbed wire associated with the Second World War coastal defences. The barbed wire is located to the south of Joss Bay, North Foreland and runs perpendicular to the coastline.
A possible pillbox (MWX43011) is located close to the northern extent of the barbed wire, and is probably associated with the overall defence system.
The barbed wire was mapped from, and is first visible on, military aerial photographs taken in May 1942 [1] and had been removed by April 1946 [2].
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [3].
