Summary

A linear earthwork on the foreshore at Stoke is marked on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th edition Ordnance Survey maps (c.1891-1940). The function of this feature is unknown. This embankment was still visible in 2004 during a survey of the north Kent coast by Wessex Archaeology.

Linear earthwork, Stoke, on 2nd and 3rd ed OS (1,2) Embankment still visible in 2004, overgrown by saltmarsh flora. (3) Also visible on the 4th edition OS map (4).
