R.B. rubbish pits containing potsherds, oyster shells and bones were excavated in 1963 by I. Jackson. Pots and Samian bases were found in an excavation, visible as water-filled pits with a scatter of potsherds round the edges (1). (2). Also evidence for 2 hearths and 3 brine pits plus light structures, including circular ditch features (3). Additional bibliography (4-7)
