On the 10 September 1912 the Harbour Master reported on the state of wharves: 'the land wall in Gillingham Creek belonging to Col. Passby where for years the bank has been held up by 2 old barges - these are now showing signs of decay, the outer sides and bottoms have been removed and a portion of this surface filled by placing another craft there'. Date of report taken for date of loss. (1)
