Grain Bridge on 1st ed OS (1). Site identified during 2002 survey. Bridge now comprises modern traffic bridge (2).
Mentioned in Isle of Grain Historic Area Assessment conducted by English Heritage in 2014. "The origins of Grain Bridge... are obscure but a connection of 'the most remote antiquity' was claimed in 1824, when the Corporation of London attempted to reestablish a clear waterway" (3).
