Anchorage in the River Swale, marked on a chart of 1786. (1). This area is saltmarsh. It is possible the anchorage is incorrectly located from a map and should lie in the channel, no visible remains in the 2005 coastal survey. This is understandable as the anchorage shold lie within the channel (2)
