Six lines of roundwood stakes running perpendicular to the channel, evidence of wattle, collapsed or lying horizontally against the rows. 5 rows are about 1m apart with each stake in each row approximately 0.5m apart, the maximum height of stakes is 0.15m. The 6th row lies 10m to the south west, the stakes are at an angle as if collapsed, and much wattle is exposed. The whole structure is 15m wide and 20m -25m long (lying perpendicular to the channel) in an exposed patch of firm clay. 5m to the north, small stakes run parallel to the channel lying at a very shallow angle. The main row of stakes are between 0.05m to 0.08m in diameter. The size and nature of the structure suggests it may be a fishtrap. (1)
