Summary

This First World War strong point consisted of two fire trenches separated by a road on the east side of the railway line. These works extended to other short sections of fire trenches to the west of the railway which lined with the works around Bobbing and Upper Toes. The stong point had 8 machine gun emplacements, including two detached ones built on top of the railway cutting. The northerly of these entered via short tunnels, or possibly Russian Saps. These works were protected, or were intended to be protected by barbed wire entanglements.

This strong point consisted of two fire trenches seperated by a road on the east side of the railway line. These works extended to other short sections of fire trenches to the west of the railway which are recorded as ARA86, which lined with the works around Bobbing and Upper Toes. The stong point had 8 MGEs, including two detached one build on top of the railway cutting, the northerly of these entered via short tunnels, or possibly Russian Saps. These works were protected, or were intended to be protected by barbed wire entanglements. (Seen on map only, no evidence on aerial photographs) (1)

The feature was also probably detected during a geophysical survey in 2016/17 (2)
