An aerial photgraph and LiDAR analysis carried out in 2013 identified a possible post-medieval quarry on Manston Road.
From the report:
"The remains of a small post medieval quarry pit are visible air photographs. The quarry appeared as a
slight depression on the Second World War photographs.
It appears as a distinctively shaped cropmark on 1960s photographs, which could be mistaken for the
remains of a much earlier monument.
The area of this feature has been heavily re-landscaped and its current condition is not known."(1)
