This feature is recorded in the English Heritage Historic Area Assessment for Allhallows Parish. The report states: "A new vicarage was built to the south [of the village] in the latter part of the 19th century…A small stretch of residential ribbon development exists to the south of the village on Stoke Road. This began with the Vicarage, a mildly Gothic style building dating from the late 19th century, subsequently converted into a residential home for the elderly called The Chimneys, and much enlarged in the latter part of the 20th century".
