Former Church Institute, now Library, used as Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) Hospital run by Kent/18 from Dec 1914 until Dec 1918. The building is still in use.
The building was formerly a National School for boys and girls. It is shown as a school on the 1862-75 map.
