A tithe barn is mentioned in the High Halstow Parish Historic Area Assessment as part of the wider Hoo Peninsula study by English Heritage. The tithe barn is reported to have stood in the village to the east of the Church until the late 20th century. The report states that the old tithe barn to the south of The Street, was in use as a wheelwright's shop until 1971. It was then replaced by St Margaret's Court, a residential block for old age persons. (1)
