Position of No. 3 gun, Fan Bay Battery. (1)
Fan Bay Battery was a battery of three 6-inch guns established at Fan Bay in late 1940. The battery was designed as an anti-shipping battery and comprised the three gun positions with associated magazines, shelters, plotting rooms, accommodation and administration areas. It was manned by 203 Coast Battery (Royal Artillery).

The main entrance to the Fan Hole Deep Shelter is located east of Gun No.3. This gave access to the underground shelter during hostile bombardments with space for 185 men and 4 officers.
