An extensive complex of military trenches can be seen on 1940s aerial photographs north and north-west of Radwall. The trenches run for more than 1 km west-east either side of Chestfield Road which runs between Herne Bay & Whitstable and Canterbury. The trenches consist of interrupted lines of trenches and a circular redoubt.
