The first edition of the Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (1862-1875) shows an annotation "ancient harbour (portions of vessels found here)" approximately 800m west of Minster The site is located on a finger of tidal flats depoists that may represent the former extent of the Wantsum Channel.(1)
