A building survey by Canterbury Archaeological Trust in January 2015 identified this site in Cranbrook as being the location of The Bull Inn from 1755. (1)

This building was located in the premises of what had previously been named The White Horse Inn (See MKE97529). (1)

The report also notes the probable existence of an 18th century outbuilding of the Bull Inn. (1)

By the 19th century, Barnabas Taylor, a staunch conservative had converted the Inn into firstly a "Tory outpost" (1) and secondly a commercial Inn, which provided a base for commercial travellers to conduct business. (1) Taylor is also noted to have provided horses and carriages for hire and a stable building is noted to have existed.
