The small north tower and chapel in on the north-east side of St. Anselm's Choir is dedicated to St. Andrew and is shown on Prior Wibert's plan of the Priory's waterworks dated c. 1165.

Built in the early 12th century this Norman tower and Chapel of St. Andrew is in Romanesque style and richly decorated. The small tower has a small cap spire on top, and on the north side the Norman Treasury is attached to St. Andrew's Chapel. In c. 1160 Prior Wibert strengthened the chapels of the Holy Innocents (crypt) and St. Andrew's above and added the Treasury building. The towers had begun to settle so remedial work was necessary. The tower and chapel survived the great fire of c. 1174 which destroyed most of the east end of the original Norman church and was incorporated into the new choir by William Sens the French architect.

The Chapel of St. Andrew is used as the Vestry and in the 19th century a portion of Prior Eastry's great screen was moved to the entrance of St. Andrew's Chapel where it still remains.
