During the early part of the 12th century the Priory gained new land and were able to extend their precincts. Accordingly a new wall replacing Lanfranc's earlier wall which enclosed a much smaller area, was built of mortared large sandstone blocks and large flint nodules.

During the early part of the 12th century the Priory gained new land and were able to extend their precincts. Accordingly a new wall replacing Lanfranc's earlier wall which enclosed a much smaller area, was built of mortared large sandstone blocks and large flint nodules. This particular section runs from the later Meister Omers Hall on a N-S axis, then turns west running through what was later to become the Forrens along the northern boundary to the Deportum Gate, to the rear (east of) the buildingson the east side of Green Court.
The wall separates two main areas, to the south is the larger Monastict Prcincts, whilst to the north, after the 14th century, was the Prior's Great Garden (after the Dissolution it was called the Dean's Garden). In about 1400 the wall was re-routed eastwards (just north of Meister Omer's Hall) to the City Wall to form a boundary between the Convent Garden to the south and the Prior's Great garden to the north.
The Priory Precinct Wall was mostly destroyed in the 17th century.
