Little information has been found about this feature to date.

There is no doubt, however, that the Piscina, a pond or pool, formed part of the Norman facilities within the Cathedral Precincts. It is clearly shown on Prior Wibert's Plan of the Priory's Waterworks dated c. 1165. It is shown as being situated to the east of the Cathedral in the Cellarer's Garden. It appears oval shaped in plan measuring approximately 135 feet long N-S by 70 feet wide E-W with a central fountain and a series of small apses around its perimeter.
