Summary

A long rectangular shaped malthouse is shown on the 1st edition O. S. Map of 1874 to the north of but part of the complex of St. Dunstan's Brewery. The brewery was founded in 1797 and it is possible that the malthouse dates from this date also.

The Canterbury UAD states that a long rectangular shaped malthouse is shown on the 1st edition O. S. Map of 1874 to the north of but part of the complex of St. Dunstan's Brewery. The brewery was founded in 1797 and it is possible that the malthouse dates from this date also. The long building was built over two floors of brick with at least external two hoist boxes and doors to the first floor for upper floor malt storage.
