The inn makes an appearance on the 1692 Licensing List, and the following year the Billeting List gave the inn 4 soldiers. It is highly likely the inn was destroyed in the 1942 bombing of the city. Three innkeepers were mentioned;
1867 Henry James Stone
1882 Richard Faulkner
1888 Charles Piper.
The Globe closed in 1926.
